Hello

I had my first Reiki experience in 2001, without knowing it was a Reiki treatment, at a natural health expo at the Javits Center in New York. I believe the practitioner came up to me and asked me if I would like my chakras healed. The treatment was, of course, relaxing and healing. However, because I viewed relaxation and healing as luxuries I did not deserve, I did not seek out another treatment.

But then a switch, or something like it, flipped in my brain during my second semester of Ph.D. School, when it became evident that I was not going to land that tenure-track professorship or publish that Great American Novel. What would I do instead? I’d become enamored of The LuneInnate’s YouTube Reiki channel, and I began to wonder if it were something I could study. And so I began training in Usui Reiki. Due to the demands of graduate school, it took me longer than expected to finish the course, but I received my Usui Reiki Master credentials in the fall of 2024.

Since earning my Reiki Master Certificate, I have been practicing Reiki on myself and others, in person and at a distance. I continue to be astounded by the simple but very real power this energy bestows. I want to share Reiki with anyone who feels called to try it, and I want to “keep Reiki real,” as it were, so even highly skeptical people, as I once was, can access this simple but powerful modality. There are many ways to express and experience love and light, and I want to continue to vibrate on my own frequency. I want to help you do that as well.
